Dr. Christine Kerr
As a practitioner Dr. Christine Kerr has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Board Certified, Registered Clinical Art Therapist with thirty-nine years of experience. She is also an internationally recognized lecturer and author on couples and family treatment. She has written seminal books on family therapy and currently is writing a new text on couples treatment. Also Dr. Kerr is the Director of Clinical Art Therapy at Long Island University. Her treatment approach utilizes both a cognitive-behavioral and family systems’ approach. Dr. Kerr is also well versed in DBT therapy. All these approaches focus on improved communication and symptom remediation amongst the family and the couple.
Gary Kerr, LCSW-R is a practitioner with 40 years of experience. For over 40 years, he has worked in in-patient psychiatric setting. For 30 years he has maintained a private out-patient practice working with individuals and families. For the past 10 years, he has worked with his wife treating couples and families. Gary Kerr is a member of the Association of Clinical Social Workers. Gary’s treatment approach is multifaceted; utilizing bot a CBT and psychodynamic approach.
